Theatre District Tour

Travel back in time and visit two of Birmingham’s beautiful restored theatres — the Lyric and the Alabama.

The Alabama Theatre was built in 1927 by Paramount Studios as an Alabama showcase for Paramount films and underwent a complete front door to back door restoration in 1998. If you wish, you may also book the theatre for a private movie showing and a sing-a-long with music provided by the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ.

The Lyric was once the finest performing arts theatre in the city and through its restoration, it promises to be again. Listed on the National Register as part of the Birmingham Downtown Retail & Theatre Historic District, this century-old venue is a beacon of history, entertainment and culture in the heart of Birmingham. The theatre offers a wider stage and closer audience—better suited for performing arts such as the symphony, ballet, opera and theatre.

Going on a Theatre District Tour sounds like something I would like.
